One of the worst parts is the new waistline. It’s been 14 yrs since my last kid… and still… my underwear roll down, creating a hard wire-effect which is painful…or my skirts rise up to meet my bra band. I really miss having a waistline, mostly because that’s how clothes are made.
They’re not made for us.
And it’s extra hard finding the right size. Doesn’t help women’s sizes are already completely arbitrary!!!

I’m not that large, but this apron really makes it nearly impossible to find cute and affordable clothes.

I use Secret antiperspirant spray under breasts, under belly and in the groin area and it saves me from rashes and skin breakdown.

Thank you. I felt a lot of shame around this part of my body. I don’t know that I’m done having kids and don’t currently have enough support or money for panniculectomy so I need to learn how to live comfortably in my body. I live in FL and my current underwear doesn’t help with the skin-to-skin contact and tight tummy things just give me an upset stomach. I learned a lot from this and really appreciated it being treated as normal. Thanks.

Well here I am a bit late for the party but umm I have just turned 59 and have gotten myself an apron belly – I was never overweight – maybe I put on a few kilos during covid but I think the main thing was menopause, and it just happened, I saw it and it was there – I’m mortified, only option is surgery that I will
Not be able to afford and just finished in a relationship so aren’t planning on another! What will I ever do! Don’t wear undies anymore what’s the point and definitely don’t wear anything figure hugging – so so sad

This has a lot of great information and I wish I’d read it before I went in to be induced (I read a LOT of other articles on your site that helped). I wish it was a help for me for my issue. I have fluid retention in the apron belly area. It has increasingly gotten worse since my c-section 11 months ago. My doctors don’t seem to have any clue what can be done to help. If I lay on my stomach, it feels like a rolled up towel is in that area. It is painful.

I literally cried when I found this page! I didn’t even know my 2nd belly was called an apron! Ive had mine now for 12 years and I’ve had horrible back pains and rashes. I I was ever told was lose weight. I also have pcos. I’ll be talking to a doctor about treatments. Now! I finally have hope. Thank you all so much!
